    Default xhtml validation of the table tag's "height" element

    I'm having a little problem. I create an xhtml compliant document in
    dreamweaver, yet when i validate it using the xhtml 1.0 transitional validator,
    it spots this issue in all tables i create.

    The tag: "table" doesn't have an attribute: "height" in currently active
    versions.

    Yes, this makes sense. xhtml doesnt want to see

    <table height="22">

    Rather it likes something more like

    <table style="height: 22px;">

    But for the life of me I can't seem to find out how to make dreamweaver code
    my tables like this. I would love to have dreamweaver be able to code a page
    that passes it's own validator!

    Thanks,
    Brandon

    Just code by hand. DW's design view is a complete waste of time once you
    know what you're doing, especially, as you point out, if you want XHTML
    complaint code.

    Or not. Create a style that cascades into that table....

    Not necessarily. I have found design view to be benefitial more than once, and
    I've been writing (well-formed) code for years. Though I'm in code view more
    often, I occasionally use design view when I need to get some idea if how/where
    my styles are being applied without opening the browser, and also if I get lost
    in code I can quickly hit the design view button, highlight the text (or
    wysiwyg element) I was editing and then jump right back to code view, with that
    text or element selected in code.
