XP and PS 7.01

I cannot get it to start up, I have tried deleting the pref, reinstalling.

I will get to the point were its looks fully loaded up, but then it stops reponding and windows reports,

"Adobe Photoshop Has encounted a problem and needs to close"

if you downloaded the file, try downloading again, you could have a currpupt installer.
