Default Xport an Illustrator file into InDesign?

    Hello forum-

I created a logo in Illustrator and want to be able to place it in InDesign without losing any quality. I am using this logo for letterhead, biz cards, etc.

How exactly do I successfully save my file in Illustrator (do i flatten any transparencies and if so, how)?

    Thanks in advance.

What version of each program do you have?

If it's CS for both, you should be able to import in the .ai file directly with no problems.

    Jonathan-

    It is CS for both.

When I "place" it in InDesign, it looks blurry.

There are no special ways in how I need to save the logo in Illustrator?

    thanks

Ahhh... I should have caught that before.

Once it's placed, the quality is there, it's just pixelated/blurry to improve performance. If you want to be convinced of the quality, just right click on the placed .ai in InDesign, and go to "Display Performance". Pick "High Quality Display".

Cool Re: Xport an Illustrator file into InDesign?

Thank you Jonathan!! You really saved me on that. It didn't make sense that an Illustrator file was coming into InDesign so pixelated! It was driving me crazy!
