"You can't edit this page because XYZ is currentlyediting it"
I was given Contribute by my web designer and i can edit all pages except for
the home page. On the home page, I get this message: You can't edit this page
because XYZ is currently editing it.
My web designer disconnected from the site so there's noone else that can be
editing it.
I don't know anything about computers: I don't know what LCK files mean or
where to go to server files, etc. as i was reading about in the previous posts.
If anyone can help, i would really appreciate it.
thank you!

If you have a ftp-client you can use that, otherwise you can download Filezilla
( http://filezilla-project.org/download.php ).
You enter your connection details in the program and connect to the server
where your website is running. You search for a file named index.html.LCK (or
whatever your homepage is called followed by .LCK)
Delete the .LCK-file. Done.

If you have the right to delete pages you can also enter the url to the page
(http://www.yourdomain.nl/index.html.LCK) in the address-bar of Contribute and
in the main menu go to File, Actions, Delete Page.
