3 Comment Systems you can try on your website

I recently tried my hands at using Sweetcron which is a lifestream application. You can visualize it as Friendfeed as a CMS which will display your feeds using RSS. Now I managed to install it pretty fine except few hiccups here and there but one of the places where I had to stop and choose was using the commenting system as Sweetcron doesn’t come with any. I had to find a decent commenting system and I found three credible options

Commenting systems

Disqus is a commenting system which is being used by the likes of VentureBeat and it can be plugged into any website, blog or even application. Some of the interesting and useful features of Disqus being threaded comments and comment ratings. Disqus does well in filtering out spam and unwanted comments and moderation of comments can be done by email or mobile.

Intense Debate has been bought by WordPress but its integration with WordPress has not come to fruition as of yet. Intense Debate allows you threaded commenting and that is anyway a standard these days that any commenting system must have. During the WordCamp India Matt had spoken about its integration with BuddyPress. Intense Debate has what you call reply-by-mail where you can reply to comments or posts through email providing you hassle free interaction. Some of the other features are RSS readers and tracking, gravatar support and commentator profile etc.

JS-Kit Comment Service can be customized with basic themes which would make the comments look little edgy. JS kit lets you give special care to the visual customizations. It also comes with threaded comments, avatars of the commentators and security features like commentator authentication.
