Its important that when you communicate with your peers discussing your next project or dealing with your clients that you can pass on what’s on your mind effectively. Now if you have ever tried convincing someone (read boss) to pursue your idea then you must have an experience that how difficult it is. In such situations the best thing that you must consider is to create your mind map or the architecture of idea in your mind through diagrams. And that brings us to some Mind Mapping Softwares which are available on web and can help you to communicate in more obvious ways.
Some of the applications which you might like to try while creating mind maps are as follows:

Wisdomap impresses you with its very uncluttered and tidy user-interface. Some of the main features of wisdomap is that you can attach notes, videos, pictures, links and files to your map. It has special features to add information with the elements in map which make it a very useful tool to teach kids.

Mindomo is another web based mind mapping application which impresses you with its completeness. Mindono if compared with other softwares in this list is more comprehensive and derives its user interface a lot from Microsoft Office 2007. You can also add multimedia files in Mindomo just like Wisdomap.

Bubbl.us is a free online web application which you should seriously consider for mind mapping and brain storming. You can use it without having to sign up while you may also export the created mindmap in XML, HTML and needless to say image too. You should have an account if you want to save your mind map and access it on the bubbl.us site from anywhere.

Mind42 is a similar service which gets arranged in a tree like diagram to show and manage connections between ideas. It is also a browser based online application. Creating mind maps on Mind42 is like creating diagrams on whiteboard which to me seems pretty neat.

XMind is an open source, social brainstorming and mind mapping tool which unlike some other applications mentioned in this list is not browser based. You need to download XMind and install it in order to use it. It was earlier a commercial software which is now also available in an open source version.

FreeMind as the name suggests is a free mind mapping application which offers lot of export format options including XHTML, SVG, PNG and PDF. It is one of the best open source desktop application for brainstorming.
