The first thing I literally do in the morning is to check out the number of user visits on my blog. Google Analytics is definitely the stat tracker which takes away most of the limelight but there are also some others who does the job of tracking user visits on your blog quite well.

Here are some of the plugins you may install on your WordPress blog to track amount the visitors on your weblog. These tools does the job quite well and I would recommend you to read about them carefully before installing anyone on your blog.

Google Analytics for WordPress lets you insert the Google Analytics tracking code to all the pages of your blog while it also allows you to tag and segment all outgoing links. You can however also track all the downloads along with different prefixes for different types of tracking.

Wordpress Google Analytics Plugin is another Google Analytics plugin which you can configure to log 404 errors, searches and outgoing links.

Wassup is relatively new WordPress plugin which does visitor tracking in real time and shows you current online visitors. It also happens to have a spy view which will keep any SEO busy for long.

Google Analyticator sounds fancy (read arnoldsome) and it adds the Javascript code to enable Google Analytics on your site. You can disable tracking as well on this one while it also gives you liberty to add additional tracking codes when needed.

Ultimate Google Analytics is once again based on Google’s code and it can track all the webpages on your blog if you so desire. It has a simple configuration screen which can be turned into advanced configuration mode for complex settings.

Quickstats is an amazing plugin which logs hits with IP, host, client and url information. Its main feature is the RSS tracker which lets you track users using an RSS software in “near” real-time.

Cystats shows you data what others hide or are not capable of showing, like most read categories, tags,  top referring pages etc. Its plugin page is in German language so you might like to visit the wordpress page of this plugin where features have been mentioned in English.

WP-Shortstat is very nifty site tracking plugin and it requires no user activation to work.

Official StatCounter Plugin is a “free” WordPress plugin which has lot of features and does real time visitor tracking and analysis. The particular plugin also happens to have a paid version.

BlogStats by W3Counter shows you the real-time user activity on your blog.It also gives a sidebar widget for integrating BlogStats tracking code on your blog theme.

Piwik Analytics WordPress plugin is based on Piwik Analytics which is an open source website tracking and analytics software. It is a fairly new plugin so features are not aplenty.
